C is an imperative procedural language. It was designed to be compiled using a relatively straightforward compiler, to provide low-level access to memory, to provide language constructs that map efficiently to machine instructions, and to require minimal run-time support.
Introduction To C Language
The programming language C is a general purpose computer language, Supporting structured programming.
The programming language C was developed to be used UNIX Operating system by Dennis Ritchie between 1969-1973 at Bell laboratories located in USA. The name of C language chosen as the next after B because C is inherits many features of B language.
C language has been defined so that it has the advantages of a middle level language that combines the elements of high level languages so it is machine independent with the functionality of assembly language.
Advantages of high level languages:
- Machine independent
- Easier to maintain
- Better documentation
- Less errors
- Easy to learn and use
There are many compilers available for C.
- Turbo C
- dev c++
- CCS C Compiler
- Intel C++
- IBM C++
- Visual C++ : Express Edition
- Oracle C++
- Microsoft C++
- Paradigm C++
Also we can compile online, many platform are available but we are going to use turbo c++.
- Download turbo c++
- Extract downloaded “turbo c++.zip” file
- Run setup.exe file
- Follow the setup instructuion
Double click on “setup.exe”
Wait for it to prepare for installation.
Click on Next, and accept License Agreement on next window.
Click Next after accepting License Agreement. In Next Window, Click on install.
Now, It will install Turbo C on your system. After the process completes, Check “Launch the program” and click on Finish. After this, a new window will open.
Now, Click on “Start Turbo C++”. It will take you to the actual window where all coding tasks will be done.
However, Installation has been completed successfully. Now, you can start coding your first C Language program. Continue to next article to learn how to program your first ever program using C Language.
