How to Install Remix OS on PC Using USB

There are millions of android applications that you may like to run on your Windows laptop or PC. You can android emulators, but they are slow and laggy. So, here we are to tell you how to install Remix OS on your computer.

Wouldn’t it be a surprise if there is a particular Android OS for PC? Yes! There is a one, Remix OS. It is a version of the Android OS that is solely available to run on your computer, and it free to use.

What is Remix OS? And how to install Remix OS on your PC

Remix OS is another android based operating system that you can install your computer to run android apps. It is small in size, fast, and free to use. Also, you can use it on a ner computer or an old system because it runs fast on even legacy hardware.

There are both 32- and 64-bit versions available of Remix OS depending on your CPU. However, all you need to install Remix OS is to be eligible for its minimum requirements.

Minimum Hardware Requirements for Remix OS

  • 1.8Ghz Dual Core CPU or higher
  • 2 GB available physical memory (RAM)
  • 8 GB free space on your HDD or USB drive
  • Internet access is preferred (optional)

We recommend using a USB 3.0 Flash Drive to install Remix OS to get the best speed and experience. For this tutorial, I am using 32 GB USB 3.0 Flash Device.

Now, I have explained why you need this OS and have covered the minimum requirements to install Remix OS on your computer. Let’s move on getting to install it. Let’s get started on how to install Remix OS on PC.

Download Remix OS

The first thing we need to do is download a stable build of Remix OS for your PC. Navigate to this website and download suitable Remix OS for your computer. (See picture below)

If you are not sure whether your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit, then right-click on Windows Start icon and click System.

Now you will see a screen that will tell you the information about your computer. See in the picture below.

Once you know your CPU architecture, download the suitable version of Remix OS. After its finish downloading, extract the downloaded file using WinRar.

Install Remix OS

Now, We will create a bootable USB for installing or live boot Remix OS. You can either install Remix OS on your computer or use it in live-boot mode.

Step 1: Double click on the Remix OS installation tool, as shown in the picture below:

Step 2: Plug-in your USB drive in any working USB port of your computer. Select USB Drive from the drop-down option available on the media creation tool.

Step 3: Make sure the correct USB drive is chosen by looking at the drive letter. Next, click on the browse button at the bottom and select the Remix OS disk image file.

Step 4: Now, click on the OK button to start the process of Disk Image Writing on your USB drive. Click OK on the popup that says all of your data will be erased on your USB drive.

You are good to go! The media creation tool will install Remix OS on your USB Drive. When installation finishes, you need to reboot your computer and select USB as a boot device from Boot options.

However, depending on your computer’s boot option, you need to select Bootable USB when your PC restarts.

You now get a bootable USB that is ready to run Android on your Windows computer or laptop. You can use the Play Store and download your favorite android games on your computer. So, in this guide, we show how to install Remix OS from USB.
